Who Am I?

I’m Joy Diggs, a certified personal trainer, registered dietitian, and certified weight loss specialist. I own Digg Deep Fitness & Nutrition, located in Houston, Texas.

Fitness and nutrition have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love it so much that I actually went to school for it, receiving a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. I followed that up with an M.S. in Nutrition and continued my education, completing various certifications.

Over the past ten years, I have worked in the fitness industry and helped countless people, like you, live healthier lifestyles by making healthier food choices and preparing foods they enjoy eating.

Will I be hungry on this plan?

Many “healthy” meal plans only include smoothies, juices, and very limited food. This is not your average plan! Starving in the name of health is not necessary and definitely is not healthy long-term. Great news… this plan includes full meals and snacks every single day. You will not be cutting out foods groups or eating tiny portions of food. Our goal is to load up on the good stuff while avoiding the unhealthy stuff.

How hard will it be to shop?

Some healthy meal plans have food items that are super hard to find, not this one! I have designed this plan to include foods that the average person should be able to access. My goal is to make nutrition more convenient and accessible, so you should be able to find most, if not all, of the foods at a large, local grocery store.

How long will it take to prepare the meals?

Nobody wants to spend all day in the kitchen! Most meals will take about 30 minutes to cook. A couple recipes may take up to 45 minutes, but the meal plan is designed to give you quick, easy recipe options.

How do I decide how many calories I need?

Every person requires a different amount of calories based on their height, weight, age, gender, and activity level. To calculate your recommended calorie needs, please visit http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html. Note: It is not recommended to eat below 1200 calories without being on a doctor-controlled diet.

Can your plan help me lose weight?

Absolutely! Weight loss happens when you give your body what it needs to be healthy, including eating foods in their proper portion sizes. Though weight loss is not the primary purpose of this plan, weight loss does normally occur, if you have weight to lose. The cool part? This isn't a diet. So you can follow the guidelines of this plan FOREVER! To calculate your recommended calorie needs, please visit http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html. If your goal is to lose weight, choose a plan that provides less calories than what your body needs to maintain its weight. Keep in mind, if you have been eating significantly more than your body needs on a regular basis, just eating a few hundred calories less than norm will typically promote weight loss, if done consistently.
